Mobile fleet maintenance in NYC for the vans, pickups and cars a small business runs

A van at the shop is a van that is not earning. If you run a handful of Transits, Sprinters, ProMasters, pickups or cars for a contracting, delivery, cleaning, property or livery business, we come to where they park, evenings or early mornings if that is when they are idle, and do the oil, brakes, batteries, tires, diagnostics and scheduled service there. Every vehicle gets a record, every visit gets a quote first, and nothing spends a day in a bay.

Quote only

Fleet work is quoted per vehicle and per visit from the list of vehicles and what each one needs. Regular scheduled visits are priced as a plan.

What fleet service at the yard covers

ServiceDone at the vehicleTypical timing
Oil and filter, fluidsYes, all light-duty gas enginesEvery visit, by mileage per vehicle
Brakes, pads and rotorsYesMeasured each visit, replaced when due
Batteries and chargingYes, tested each visitBefore winter, or when a van is slow to start
Tires, plugs, rotation, pressureYesEvery visit
Diagnostics and check-engine lightsYes, full-module scanAs they come up
Tune-ups, belts, hoses, bulbs, wipersYesBy schedule
Pre-purchase inspection on a used van you are addingYes, at the sellerBefore the purchase
Heavy-duty, diesel medium-duty, lift-only jobsAskWe say yes or no straight, before you count on it

Scope today is cars, pickups and cargo vans up to the size of a Sprinter or a Transit. If your fleet includes box trucks or diesel medium-duty, ask before assuming; we would rather say no than send you a van that is not fixed.

Why fleets lose money at shops

The repair is rarely the expensive part. The expensive part is the van sitting at a shop from drop-off Tuesday to pickup Thursday, the driver who drove it there and got a ride back, and the job that van was supposed to do on Wednesday. Multiply by a fleet of six and a normal maintenance cycle costs days of lost work a year before a single part is bought.

Then there is the pattern where maintenance gets skipped because nobody has time to run the van to the shop, and the skipped oil change becomes an engine, or the pads that were low in March become rotors and a caliper in June. Fleet vehicles do hard miles, short trips, heavy loads, a lot of idling, and they need more attention than a commuter car, not less.

How mobile fleet service works

You send us the list: year, make, model, mileage and plate for each vehicle, and what you know is due. We come to the yard, the lot, the street where they park overnight, or the site where they work, at a time the vehicles are idle. Early morning before the crews go out, evenings after they are back, or a weekend, since we run around the clock. Each vehicle gets what it is due for, a look over the rest, and a written line in its record: mileage, what was done, what is coming up.

That record is the point. After a few visits you know which van eats brakes, which one has a battery on its last winter, and when each one needs its next service, so nothing is a surprise and nothing is done early to pad a bill. If you sell a vehicle, the record goes with it and holds up the price.

What it costs

Per-vehicle pricing from the same labor menu as everything else we do: oil service from $70, brakes and batteries from $95, tune-ups from $130, with parts quoted for each vehicle. Fleet visits with several vehicles in one location are quoted as a visit, because the trip is one trip, and a regular schedule is quoted as a plan so you know the monthly number. Repairs that come up between visits, a van that will not start on a Monday, are handled as the emergency call they are, at the yard, with the price given before we roll.

There is no contract to sign to get started. Most fleets start with one visit to catch everything up and see how it goes.

What we do not do, said up front

Light duty. Cars, SUVs, pickups, and cargo vans up to a Sprinter or a Transit on a gas engine. Anything that needs a lift for the whole job, a frame machine, or a transmission out, goes to a shop, and we tell you which jobs those are rather than start them. If you run box trucks or diesel medium-duty vehicles, ask; the answer depends on the vehicle and the job, and it is better to have it before a truck is down than after.

Fleets across Queens, Brooklyn and NYC

Contractors in Maspeth and College Point, delivery vans in Jamaica and Long Island City, cleaning and property crews across Queens, livery cars in Flushing and Astoria, and the same across Brooklyn, the Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island and Long Island. Send the vehicle list and where they park, and we come back with a quote for the first visit and a schedule for the rest.

Common questions

How small a fleet is worth doing this way?

Two vehicles. The saving is the shop day and the driver time, and that applies to a plumber with two vans as much as to a company with twenty. A single vehicle is just our normal service, which also comes to you.

Can you work on the vans overnight or on weekends?

Yes. Most fleet work is done when the vehicles are idle, which for a working fleet is early morning, evening, or the weekend, and we run 24/7. Tell us the window and we fit the visit to it.

Do you keep maintenance records we can use?

Yes, one per vehicle, with mileage, work done, and what is coming up. Useful for planning, for warranty, and for the resale value when a vehicle leaves the fleet.

What if a van breaks down between visits?

Call it in like any breakdown and we come to it, at the yard or on the road, usually the same day. A no-start, a dead battery, a belt, a flat and most of what stops a van on a Monday morning is fixable where it sits.

Do you service diesel Sprinters or box trucks?

Ask before counting on it. Our scope today is gas light-duty vehicles, and we would rather tell you no for a specific vehicle than send you a truck that is not properly fixed. Where the answer is yes, it is a per-vehicle yes.

How many vehicles are due?

Text us the car, the year, and the symptom for a free quote. We typically reply in under five minutes and can often come the same day.
